A second First Information Report (FIR) has recently been lodged against the upcoming Bollywood film Yaariyan 2 in Amritsar.
On September 1, 2023, the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) filed a complaint in Amritsar, Punjab, against the creators of the upcoming Bollywood movie Yaariyan 2.
They claimed the film offended religious sentiments by showing a non-Sikh actor wearing a kirpan.
They have demanded immediate action against the producers and actors creating and promoting such objectionable content.

The organization has also threatened to launch protests if their concerns are not addressed promptly.
The complaint was made under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, which prohibits acts that insult the religious beliefs of any group.
The controversy surrounding Yaariyan 2 has raised questions about creative freedom versus cultural sensitivity within India’s entertainment industry.
This is the second complaint against the creators of Yaariyan 2, with the first one being filed in Jalandhar, Punjab, on August 31, 2023.
The movie is set to be released on October 20, 2023.
How the film’s creators will respond to these complaints is still being determined.
