Sony TV condemned the spread of fake videos of the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) game show.
The channel said it is working with the cyber-crime cell to address the issue and asked viewers not to share unverified content.
This comes after a video of Amitabh Bachchan’s fake voiceover asking a question about Congress leader Kamal Nath was shared online.
The video caused accusations of bias against KBC and Sony TV.
Sony TV strongly condemned the misinformation and said the videos misleadingly overlay fake voiceovers of the host and contestants.
The channel urged viewers to avoid sharing unverified content and stated that it actively addresses the matter with the cyber-crime cell.
Sony TV previously dealt with fake KBC videos in 2023 when a video with a phony voiceover of Amitabh Bachchan asked a defamatory question about Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
