Fatima Sana Shaikh was unsure about playing Indira Gandhi in the film Sam Bahadur because she felt it was a big responsibility.
Director Meghna Gulzar convinced her she was the right person for the role and would support her.
Shaikh agreed and has been preparing extensively by reading books, watching documentaries, and meeting people who knew Gandhi.
She also works on her body language and voice to match Gandhi’s.
Shaikh is excited but knows there will be challenges and wants to do justice to the role.
